Murphy Coon:
I am a home-grown West Texas Boy. Raised in Brownfield, I pursed a degree in Food Science from College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University. Texas Tech is where I meet and married my Wife of 11 years Dr. Amber Coon. After graduating, I started with Praters’ Foods as quality control. Unfortunately, the economy turned south in 2007 and my position was dissolved. This was a blessing in disguise as I earned a position with Ecolab Inc. I spent 8 years with Ecolab across 5 different states gaining awards and promotions for outstanding sales and customer service. Ultimately being moved back home to Lubbock to Manage West Texas as a District Manager. I choose to end my career with Ecolab to spend more time with my family in 2015. Currently, I am a full time stay at home dad with 2 wonderful girls Abigail (6) and Lorelei (3), and I am a part time real estate agent in Lubbock.
Family is extremely important to me! When we came home we sought out an area of town that offered a better experience for our children to grow up in. We have been residents of Vintage for 4+ years and have greatly enjoyed meeting new people, enjoying the swimming pool and splash pad, and participating in the social events especially around the Holidays.
I want to run for the HOA board because I feel my management and sales experience coupled with my passion for Family will be a tremendous asset to the neighborhood. I know from this previous summer that we had several heated discussions concerning the pool and the management of chemicals. Given my background from Ecolab being Pool operator certified and obtaining a Class 3 Water License from State of Texas. I feel that I can greatly help the board make good well-educated decisions concerning the pool. Finally, as a realtor I understand the importance of maintaining the HOA standards to keep our home values increasing. The Lubbock Market is strong but there is a lot of New home Construction that affects our neighborhood. As an organization we have to give families a reason to want to live in Vintage! The development of HEB and other business as well as the finishing out of the neighborhood and 3rd park will greatly help our cause and we should be capitalizing on it. Improving the Livability and the Salability of the neighborhood is of great importance to me. We live in a unique and amazing neighborhood, families have invested into this neighborhood, it is up to us to ensure its success. I thank you for your confidence and your vote!
Anne Crago:
Anne Crago and her family – husband Jordan, 10 year-old son Owen and 7 year-old daughter Nora – have lived in Vintage Township for just over two years. The family moved here in August 2016 when Jordan started a job as professor at Texas Tech. Ahead of their move, when looking for a house and a neighborhood in Lubbock, Anne and Jordan discovered Vintage and knew it was where they wanted to be.
The family is active in neighborhood events, often attending pool nights and other holiday events. Anne served on the Vintage Township Events Committee in 2017 and helped coordinate Founders Park movie nights.
Owen and Nora attend Cooper Central Elementary and Anne serves on the school’s PTO leadership board. You’re likely to run into Anne on the soccer field (both kids play in Lubbock Soccer Association), the tennis court (she is a member at the Falls and is active in local USTA leagues) or at their church, First United Methodist of Lubbock.
For the past eleven years, Anne has worked full time doing Marketing for a financial services company, Baird. She also worked in Washington, DC for several years early in her career. She grew up outside of Milwaukee and holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Rocky Holly:
Age 65, retired; born & raised in Lubbock, Texas; graduated from Monterey High School (1972); graduated from Texas Tech University (BBA Degree, major in Accounting, 1976).
While attending Texas Tech, I worked full-time for the City of Lubbock. After graduating from Texas Tech, I enter the business world via the oil & gas industry, with my first 10 years working as an Accountant, followed by 30 years working as a Landman, where I worked with a team of geologists and engineers in planning drilling programs that would optimize economic and budgetary restraints and still provide maximum returns for the company.
With my history of working within the business world for 40+ years, along with working with budgets and team concepts, I would really like the opportunity to become active within Vintage Township by joining the Homeowners Association’s Board of Directors and meeting each of you and representing everyone.
My wife, Dottie (who is a Registered Nurse) and I have lived in Vintage Township for a year and a half and we have thoroughly enjoyed living here and getting involved in the various activities at Vintage Township and meeting its wonderful residents. Apart from enjoying our time at Vintage Township, we enjoy traveling and running marathons.
Lori Martin:
Lori built a house in Vintage Township in 2009, and has been a resident ever since moving in Easter of 2010. Lori is the owner of Consider It Done, a company who has served Lubbock and surrounding towns for the past seventeen years. She has served on many boards, such as the West Texas Home Builders Association, Lubbock Lions Club. She has volunteered for CASA, Salvation Army, Lubbock Lions Club.
Lori has seen growth in Vintage Township, from almost the beginning, and wants the neighborhood to be a thriving part of Lubbock that will be a place that feels a bit different than traditional Lubbock neighborhoods. Understanding the needs of residences are informative, yet when we can agree on goals and structure for the place that we call home, then we will be a place that will be a beautiful established area for homes far into the future.
Lori graduated in Colorado and moved to Texas in her earlier years. She has three children of her own, and five grandchildren. “The best thing about being a grandparent, Lori says,” is that taking an afternoon to splash in the pool or take a walk and hear what the next generation has to say, is one of our greatest joys”
John Russell:
(John is our current HOA Board President and is running for another term on the board)
John is the founder and principal of The Advisors Group, providing tax, accounting and financial management expertise since 1978. Professionally, John has earned the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP ®), Enrolled Agent, (IRS Approved Tax Specialist) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP).
John is personally committed to continuing education and professional excellence, building upon his bachelor’s degree from L.I.F.E. College in Los Angeles. He remains on the cutting edge of developments in his profession through a heavy schedule of seminars and training, as well as active membership in various professional associations.
John Russell’s commitment to excellence is not limited to his clientele, having shared his expertise as a local civic speaker and statewide lecturer on trust and estate planning for TAFTS, a TV guest commentator, and hosting a weekly radio show for 15 years.
Outside the office, John has served in various positions in community and school endeavors and serves as a leader in his church and homeowners association.
For personal recreation and challenge, John was been inspired by grandsons to become a student of Shotokan Karate, having earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt, at age 70. He continues a regular workout regimen at his local gym. John and his wife Sugar also stay busy with the lives of his adult children, their spouses, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, keeping in touch with the younger generations.
Since moving to Vintage, Sugar and I have experienced “community” more than any place we’ve ever lived. The many face book posts as to missing or found animals, or requesting some unique item for school or play, seeing the kids running from house to house and up and down the street are just some of the things that make Vintage very special to us. I have served on the Board these past 4 years as a sort of “pay back”for the privilege of living here and hoping that in some small way to make it an even better place to live. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue doing so one more term.
